Creating a Bespoke Home Gym in Orpington
Our objective was to create a custom garden room designed as a full-scale home gym. This space combines functionality, durability, and style to meet the client’s needs. Our brief was to create a large, high-ceilinged garden room capable of accommodating a full home gym. This meant ensuring the floor was robust enough to support heavy gym equipment and designing the space with practical and aesthetic features, including a mirrored wall, a wall-mounted TV, and a hard-wired internet connection.

Our approach
We worked methodically; our process started with the initial consultation with the client where we went over every detail regarding the garden room. Then we started with clearing and preparing the site for construction to build a spacious and durable garden room tailored to the client’s specifications.
Our process included
- Designed and built a large garden room with high ceilings to accommodate gym equipment and movement.
- Installed a mirrored wall for both aesthetics and functionality.
- Laid a durable rubber gym floor capable of withstanding the weight of heavy equipment.
- Mounted a wall TV and added a hard-wired internet connection
The challenge
This project presented a significant challenge when it came to providing internet connectivity to the garden room. The existing house router was located far from the garden room, making it difficult to run a connection. To address this, our team devised a careful and innovative solution. We removed the skirting boards and a CAT6 cable was discreetly routed behind the skirting boards and out through the rear of the house.
The results
The completed project exceeded the client’s expectations. The garden room is now a fully equipped home gym with features like a mirrored wall and rubber flooring, designed to withstand heavy use. Despite the challenges, the solution for the internet cable was invisible, ensuring a polished final result.
